The Mica Paper Rigid Sheet offered by us, consists of Muscovite or phlogopite mica paper, which is impregnated with heat resistant silicon resin. In order to form rigid plates, numerous layers of impregnated mica paper are consolidated under high temperature and pressure. The binder used in this process is completely cured. Maintaining its self-supporting characteristics even after being heated, the sheet is used for manufacturing heating elements for numerous products. Ideal for gaskets and electric furnaces, it is also used in toasters, irons, hairdryers, curlers, as well as strip and band heaters.

Heating Capacity

Muscovite mica paper resist up to 550°C in continuous services. 750°C in intermittent services.

Phlogopite mica paper resist up to 700°C in continuous services. 850°C in intermittent service

Mica Tapes are manufactured using mica paper (muscovite, phlogopite, calcined or synthetic) with backings of glass cloth or polyester film (polyimide preferably) or both for applications such as dielectric barriers for motors, transformers, generator and barrier of circuit integrity during fire conditions of wire and cables, all impregnated with high temperature silicon resin.

The mica tape backing depends on its application. (e.g., If it’s a high-temperature application – polyimide backing tapes are used). The winding of mica tapes for its application is very important, wrapping should be done well to get best results.
